Description
A simple South Indian style Tomato Pickle made from farm fresh tomatoes and spices to give simplicity a run for its money 😉
This Tomato pickle will pair brilliantly well with anything that you choose to eat it with. It’ll amp up your basic dal chawal meal to an oh so tangy spicy fiesta. It’ll add a kick to your khichadi and can even make a simple parantha sing to its tangy spicy notes.
Fresh farm tomatoes are washed, wiped, and chopped carefully to retain all the pulp and then treated with garlic, mix of bydagai and Guntur chilli powder, tamarind, jaggery and further tempered groundnut oil.
While this pickle is often termed as an instant one, however, we have ensured we give in good 2-3 weeks for it to mature and soak in all the awesomeness. Taste it to experience it first hand 😉
The tomatoes and all the spices for this pickle are grown and sourced from the farms in Raichur, Andhra Pradesh and are directly shipped to my home to curate this awesomeness.

Good
So I was really craving for some homemade Andhra Style tomato pickle as I had run out of the one bottle which my mom had brought. And in a moment of desperation, I ordered it from this site after confirming that it was an Andhra style pickle. The order took sometime to reach us. Meanwhile, I saw that the ingredients contained Jaggery and that scared the hell out of me. Andhra style tomato pickle is not sweet. If anything, the salt might give a thump to your Blood Pressure and the heat might turn you into a Fire Breathing Dragon. Assuming it was too late to cancel the order and fearing the worst, I hurriedly opened the superbly packed contents into the awesome glass bottle and picked at a large chunk of Tomato from the pickle. As soon as I put it in my mouth, there was this explosion of flavours, nothing sweet, perfect combo of spice and sour and saltiness, juicy chunks of pickled tomatoes. Shrishti ji… hats off to you for making such an awesome pickle. It was definitely worth the wait… The perfect condiment for my dal chawal
