Description
RAITA, a yogurt (curd) based condiment made with either raw or cooked vegetables or even boondi (made with fried droplets of chickpea flour or besan), seasonal fruits are also popularly used. It is found in almost every household, be it in North India, South India, Eastern India or Western India.
In our household, it is served every day in lunch and sometimes even dinner, ever since I can remember. I have and still love eating different types of raitas, be it boondi, cucumber, bottle gourd, mix vegetable, pineapple, and even plain curd, which is topped with this homemade raita masala.
The aroma of the spices being roasted and ground fills up the entire house and beyond which even our neighbors get attracted to :D.
Have been making batches of this aromatic blend of spices and herbs for our relatives and friends for a long time now and all have seemed to relished till the very end of the jar.
You can also just add it to plain curd or Yoghurt and add a delicious & healthy dip or sauce to be eaten with Chips, Nachos and even Tandoori or Grilled snacks like Chicken Tikka or Seekh Kebab.
