Relive your childhood days with Masala Monk’s Kamrakh ka Achar
When people gathered around the carts serving Shakarkandi (sweet potatoes) loaded with chaat masala and neembu, my eyes always looked for that green, star shaped fruit, aka Kamrakh, which was also, usually, served on the same cart. A bite of sweet khakarkandi followed by a bite of this sour and chatpata fruit. Aaah, love it so much 🙂
Add this pickle to your regular lunches or dinners for the much-required zing.
A bit of that chaat masala could elevate that fruit so much, imagine an array of hand picked, home roasted and ground spices, that zing of mustard oil and a little bit of sun cooking could do. Yes, all you crazy pickle fans out there, from our quirky pickle series, we have got this Kamrakh ka Achar/ Star Fruit Pickle.
Kamrakh blended in an array of handpicked, home-roasted and ground spices, with a zing of mustard oil and a little bit of sun cooking.
So make yourself a paratha (yes, winters are meant for parathas only breakfast 😛 ), add this quirky pickle to your plate with a warm cup of chai. Your winter breakfasts are sorted. You can also add this pickle, to your regular lunches or dinners for the much-required zing. I, personally, love this with daal-chawal.
Starfruit still has a bite to it making it texturally perfect when coated with spices and oil. If you like your pickle to be a little matured, just place the jar in sun for couple of more days.
