This Jackfruit-Mango Pickle is a cherished recipe from my friend’s mother in Bihar, crafted with care, patience, and a deep love for tradition. Raw jackfruit and mangoes are thoroughly cleaned, cut into pieces, and then sun-dried for two days to intensify their natural texture and flavor.
Once dried, a blend of salt, turmeric, and dry-roasted homemade spices is added. After the masala has fully seeped into the jackfruit and mango pieces, wooden kohlu-pressed mustard oil is poured in to lock in the flavors.
The pickle is then carefully transferred into glass jars on the sixth day and left to mature under the sun for another 15 days, allowing the spices and oil to deeply infuse. The entire process is slow and time-honored, requiring great patience and precision, but the result is a pickle rich in flavor, tradition, and warmth.
Ingredients :
Fresh jackfruit, mango , mustard seeds, fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds salt, turmeric, asafoetida, coriander, red chilli powder, wooden pressed mustard oil.

Storage:
Once opened, store in a cool & dry place. Always use a clean and dry spoon to scoop the pickle out. If the pickle is not matured to your liking, please keep the jar in direct sunlight for a couple of days.
